![]() ![]() If I had any other choice, I would change companies. We have bought a generator just to be able to have power since ours goes out so much. I am absolutely dissatisfied with this company. Blue Ridge Mountain EMC is a not-for-profit, member-owned cooperative serving the counties of Towns, Union and Fannin of North Georgia and Clay and Cherokee of Western North Carolina. Having talked to some of the employees driving around while it is off, they say they are looking for the problem. This is 2020 and this power company doesn't even have the ability to see where the power is out. ![]() When it does go out, it takes hours to come back on. In 2021 Tri-State EMC had retail sales of 296, 396 megawatt. This is 17.72 below the US average rate of 15.39 cents, resulting in the supplier ranking 1618th lowest for average electricity rate out of 2906 suppliers in the country. Why this isn't taken care of, I dont know as Tri State supposedly has a tree company that works for them just to take care of these issues. The average residential electricity price for consumers of Tri-State EMC is about 12.66 cents per kilowatt hour. When I drive in our area, there are multiple tree limbs just hanging over the power lines. Our whole schedules put on hold or ruined because we can't even take a shower and get ready for our appointments. No rain, no storms, and no wind! Beautiful, sunny days and we have no power. The power just randomly goes out in our area. This power company is inefficient at providing the service that customers deserve. ![]()
